We had a BIG week here at the Seattle/South King County affiliate. In no small part thanks to the 95 – 95! – generous supporters who made donations as part of The Seattle Foundation‘s second annual GiveBIG online day of giving event.

Preliminary estimates have us surpassing our GiveBIG fundraising goal for a total of $17,244. Thank you to everyone who donated or helped spread the word!

More great things from the last seven days:

• Last Friday, April 27, Starbucks brought a crew of volunteers out to our Rainier Vista site. You can check out photos from the work day in our Facebook album.
• On Wednesday, we had a volunteer appreciation barbecue to celebrate all the wonderful volunteers and partners who have invested time and energy into completing our first NSP 3 rehab in the Westway neighborhood of Federal Way. Attendees included Federal Way Mayor Skip Priest and the new homeowners! More pictures from the event can be found here.
• As work wraps up on our first NSP 3 rehab, we have started work on our second home in the Westway neighborhood. Saturday, April 28, was the first work day on the site and lots got done, including: removing the illegal garage bedroom, tearing up the Pergo flooring in the living room, and priming the bedrooms for painting.
• You can now raise money for Habitat every time you shop at Bartell Drugs. Sign-up for a ‘B’ Caring Card and up to 4% of your purchase will be donated to our affiliate.
