Rehabs make up 17% of Habitat homes

Rehabilitating existing homes is a growing trend nationally among Habitat affiliates. Last year, 17% of Habitat homes were rehabs, up from 12% in 2009. Senator Patty Murray, D-Washington, is the lead champion in the federal push to end veteran homelessness by 2015. Murray is the chair of the Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee.
